Después de años de estar protegidos del mundo humano, estos hermanos se propusieron ganarse los corazones de los neoyorquinos y ser aceptados como adolescentes normales realizando actos heroicos. Su nueva amiga April O’Neil les ayudará a enfrentarse a un misterioso sindicato del crimen, pero pronto intentarán desequilibrarlos desatando un ejército de mutantes sobre ellos.
Este reinicio de Las Tortugas Ninja nos trae un estilo de animación que sigue los estándares de Spider-man: Un nuevo Universo o Los Mitchel contra las máquinas, dejando de lado las películas de acción real que vimos recientemente, además también presenta cambios significativos en la apariencia de los personajes, principalmente en el personaje de la reportera April O´neal, el cual ha sido muy criticado y amado en Redes.
Es una película animada de acción producida por Nickelodeon Movies en conjunto con Nickelodeon Animation Studio y Point Grey Pictures (autores de Invincible y The Boys) y distribuida por Paramount Pictures, dirigida por Jeff Rowe y Kyler Spears, producida por Seth Rogen, escrita por Brendan O’Brien y protagonizada por las voces de Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, Ayo Edebari, Shamon Brown Jr., Micah Abbey junto con Jackie Chan, Maya Rudolph, Seth Rogen, John Cena, Post Malone, Rose Byrne, Paul Rudd, Natasia Demetriou, Giancarlo Esposito y Ice Cube.
